I went to SmartStyle to have my bangs cut. Kelsey cut my bangs. I told her before I even sat down that I wanted them cut dry and I needed them cut BELOW my eyebrows. She proceeded to spray my hair with water. I stopped her and said that I wanted it cut dry (second time I told her). She started to cut. She stood in front of me as she cut so I really couldn't see what she was doing. I reminded her a second time that they needed to be BELOW the eyebrow. She gave me baby bangs (an inch ABOVE the eyebrow. I told her that they weren't below the eyebrow. Her response......"NO they're not". I walked up to the register and there were 2 other hairdressers there, talking, (possibly, the man was in-charge....it seemed that way). I mentioned to them that I had asked her to cut my bangs below the eyebrows and the man actually said....."Well some of it is". Now, I was angry, but I would have let it go, except for one thing. As I was leaving, Kelsey said to the other two hairdressers......."I knew it was going to be trouble when she wouldn't let me spray (with water....told her to cut it dry 2x) her hair. Since when is it the customer's fault when you make a mistake.
Just because you have a license that does not make you a stylist! I went in the salon on oct 3rd to get a wash and set for my thick natural hair. I asked the woman at the front if the stylists there were capable of doing African American hair , she says yes of course , I think asked her how much it would be being that there is no chart up saying the prices I was quoted 36.50 based on the length of my hair, fine I took a seat. Now I didn't get the stylists name because she had absolutely no people skills but being that we were at Kristens chair I will call her KRISTEN . Now from the moment I say to get my hair washed I knew I was going to have a problem , at no time was I told I could use my own product so when I handed the girl shampoo for my natural hair I was told they couldn't use other products , okay now first that's something you should say before you wet my hair and second why not? I thought the customer was always right? But anywho it was washed and blow dried now here's the worse part . The girl acted as if she never seen African American hair before I mean she was yanking and pulling like i was a Barbie doll with unruly hair, I am still a CUSTOMER ! Whatever, I can take somethings but when the girl started using the flat iron and burned my scalp the very first time?! Now that's when I knew she was not getting anything more from me, not even a sorry , she was the worse hair dresser I have ever endured . All of that and she allowed me to get up from her chair with my hair sticking out like it was never done. How can you charge someone for that? How can you even let your customer walk out like that? Than I asked for a trim she said it would be 16$ the price of a regular hair cut. What?! A trim is the price of a hair cut?! Ok now I pulled my hair up and that was that. I told them at the beginning I wanted my sons hair cut so when she looked in the system there was no one there to cut it for him and she ended up having to do it. I should have just left but my son desperately needed his hair cut. Now you can hurt me but the minute you hurt my child the fight is on. She started combing his hair and pulling at his head and kept saying your fine your fine , than when she used the clippers he freaked out and me trying to let the lady cut didn't realize she was actually cutting him behind his ear . No thank you . I said we are done and got up to pay my bill , long behold I was charged more than what I was quoted for my hair . It was so funny she kept saying if you would like to leave a tip..... No I wouldn't ! Worse place I have ever been too! Not returning .
I have been getting my hair cut here since 2014 and never had a problem. I always leave happy
Normally, I would let this go, but when you blame the customer for your mistake.......
I personally have never had a problem here for my two boys. They are always friendly with them. My youngest son has a lot of calics in his hair and the woman who did his hair the last time did a great job on it. Best haircut he ever had. she really paid attention to the details of his hair and made it lay flat . Nobody has ever done that.
